I believe, above all else, that every child has the ability to learn. Today's students come from increasingly diverse backgrounds, and they bring with them a variety of individualities and exceptionalities that make learning potentially challenging. I believe it is the job of the 21st century teacher to find the opportunities in this student diversity, and to hold all students to high academic standards.
I believe that technology can play an important role in making schools places where all children can learn. Employed wisely, technology can engage student interest, increase students' own participation in the construction of classroom knowledge, and differentiate instruction such that it can reach all learners. In addition, teaching students to use technologies strategically, as both analytical and communications tools, prepares them both for careers and for citizenship in 21st century society.
